ภารกิจ

ตามกฎหมายจัดตั้งหน่วยงานภารกิจหลักตามกฎกระทรวงว่าด้วยการแบ่งส่วนราชการกรมส่งเสริมการส่งออก กระทรวงพาณิชย์ พ.ศ. 2553 ให้กรมส่งเสริมการส่งออก มีภารกิจเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมการส่งออก ขยายตลาด สินค้า และธุรกิจ บริการของไทย พัฒนาและสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มของสินค้าและธุรกิจบริการส่งออก ให้บริการข้อมูลการค้าและ เพิ่มศักยภาพ การแข่งขันของผู้ประกอบการไทยในตลาดโลก เพื่อเพิ่มมูลค่าและปริมาณการส่งออกของประเทศไทย

สำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ (สคต.)

เป็นสำนักงานภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของกรมส่งเสริมการค้าระหว่างประเทศที่ตั้งอยู่ในต่างประเทศ 58 แห่งทั่วโลก มีภารกิจในการติดตามภาวะและความเคลื่อนไหวทางการค้า สำรวจความต้องการของสินค้าและช่องทางการค้าในตลาดต่างประเทศ และเป็นตัวกลางในการเชื่อมโยงความสัมพันธ์ทางธุรกิจระหว่างประเทศไทยและนานาชาติ เพื่อสนับสนุนการดำเนินธุรกิจการค้าให้กับผู้ประกอบการไทย

คือ ผู้ที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งจากกระทรวงพาณิชย์ จำนวน 31 คนทั่วโลก ให้ทำหน้าที่ดูแลและปกป้องผลประโยชน์ ทางการค้าของไทย ตลอดจนให้ความช่วยเหลือในการจัดกิจกรรมทางการค้าให้กับประเทศไทย โดยเฉพาะในประเทศที่ไม่มีสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ (สคต.) ของไทยตั้งอยู่
